Meizu M8The Meizu M8 is a smartphone sporting a stylish design, touch screeen and a modfied Windows CE operating system. Its resemblance with Apple’s iPhone has led to it being labeled more as a clone than a rival of the iPhone. However, the closure of Meizu’s CeBit booth in early March had nothing, as many speculated, to do with copyright infringement. It was instead related to the lack of an MP3 Sisvel license for another of Meizu’s products. But, as Meizu’s CEO Jack Wong explained, Meizu products don’t play MP3s, just WMA. It looks like Meizu are intending to rename this model as the miniOne. This move may be problematic due to the fact that Venzero have already bagged that name for their media players. Since the M8 will be using GSM, which US service provider AT&T Cingular and T-Mobile use, this device will work outside of China. According Jack Wong, the M8 will ship with QQ Client and also a customised version of Live Messenger.
